In the opening month of 2023, German authorities apprehended an individual, according to an officialcommunication from Europol released on January 12, 2023. Simultaneously, Cyprus underwent searches at twolocations, with two individuals subjected to questioning.

Bulgaria witnessed interviews with 42 individuals, coupled with searches conducted at five distinct addresses.

The criminal syndicate, operating through call centers, enticed unsuspecting victims into investing substantial sumsin deceptive cryptocurrency schemes, as outlined in the Europa statement.

Describing the intricate web of operations, Stamenković, the prosecutor specializing in high-tech crime, elucidates "Serbia would serve as the central hub, Bulgaria as a specialized IT unit, with Cyprus and Israel assumingmanagerial roles" underscoring the global scale of this operation.

Crafted to deceive, the investment ploymanipulated clients, ensnaring a notable count of citizens from Croatia and Slovenia among the defraudedinvestors. Those contributing funds believe they are acquiring shares and reaping profits based on counselprovided by agents associated with these entities.
